Young Voices Program

Apply Now

FIO Italia’s Young Voices Program provides pre-college (ages 17+) singers the opportunity for musical and cultural study abroad within our unique curriculum to prepare them for collegiate study.

Artistic Development

As part of our festival, Young Voices artists will:

  • Work with our internationally acclaimed faculty in voice lessons and coachings

  • Sing in recitals, special concert events, and our opera scenes program

  • Sing in the chorus of mainstage operas in the historic Teatro Bramante with the LaRespighi Orchestra

  • Attend masterclasses

  • Train in Alexander Technique

  • Participate in acting workshops

These experiences will prepare singers for their upcoming transition to college and provide an exceptional start to their careers in music.

Cultural Experiences

Centro Studi Italiani provides our singers with exceptional language and cultural experiences. We want our singers to learn about the language, culture, and history of Italy throughout their time with us. Throughout FIO 2027, our Young Voices artists will:

  • Attend live performance events

  • Tour across the Marche region

  • Experience the vibrant city life of Urbania.

Information for Parents

We encourage families to attend and be part of their singer’s experience. We regularly work with families to join us for the festival. We’re happy to answer questions about how best to support your singer as part of their international studies through FIO-Italia and Centro Studi Italiani. Our singers will be housed in Urbania, and we have coordinated resident assistants on site to assist with this program. Each resident advisor has a completed background check and works with festival staff to ensure that our students have the best experience in all that they do across their time in Urbania. For more information on housing, travel, and our festival schedule, please contact our Festival Directors.
