More than a summer opera program.
At FIO Italia, you will be immersed in a professional opera company, but the training doesn't stop at the rehearsal-room door. You will study the Italian language at one of Italy’s most esteemed language schools, rehearse and perform in Italy, experience a curriculum designed to prepare you for the stage, work closely with internationally-renowned faculty and coaches, and become part of the cultural life of the communities where you perform.

Five weeks of intensive training, performance, and cultural immersion for singers, aspiring directors, conductors, collaborative pianists, costumers and stage technicians.

Emerging Artist Program
For advanced singers approaching or entering professional careers, with repertoire, casting, performance responsibility, and training designed for artists working at a high pre-professional or professional level.
Studio Artist Program
For developing singers building the technical, musical, linguistic, and dramatic foundation needed for their next stage, with substantial training and performance experience within the same festival environment.
Perform in extraordinary historic settings—from Teatro Bramante, part of a UNESCO World Heritage site, to the magnificent Cortile d’Onore of Urbania’s Palazzo Ducale, shaped by the legacy of Renaissance Duke Federico da Montefeltro.

Connecting Worlds
From Broadway to the Great American Songbook, FIO artists join Italian orchestras for a touring celebration of American music, bringing one of America's great musical traditions to theaters and festivals throughout the region. These concerts are in collaboration with the Orchestra Recondite Armonie and the Orchestra da Camera di Rimini creating a musical dialogue between American and Italian culture and sharing a distinctly American repertoire with audiences across Italy.
FIO’s concert and opera scenes programs give artists additional opportunities to perform beyond the mainstage productions. Participants explore a wide range of repertoire through staged scenes, recitals, and concerts, developing greater confidence, versatility, and connection with audiences in historic venues throughout the region.

Urbania is a charming historic town in Italy’s Marche region, nestled among the rolling hills and green valleys of the northern Apennines. Known for its Renaissance character, warm community atmosphere, and rich artistic heritage, Urbania offers the intimacy of a small Italian town with easy access to the culture and beauty of central Italy. FIO MONDO is an umbrella organization dedicated to creating meaningful cultural exchange through music, opera, education, and international collaboration. Through programs in different countries and communities, FIO MONDO brings emerging artists, educators, and professionals together to train, perform, learn from one another, and engage deeply with the cultures in which they work.
At its core, FIO MONDO uses the arts as a bridge—connecting people across languages, traditions, and borders while fostering artistic growth, cultural understanding, and lasting international relationships.
